The Village at East Farms Associate Named Benchmark “Service Champion” of the Year Waterbury, Conn. (August 7, 2006) – Benchmark Assisted Living announced today that Fran DePillo, lead resident care advisor for Waterbury’s senior living community The Village at East Farms, has been honored with the company’s top “Service Champion” award. Nominated by residents and fellow staff members and chosen by the Senior Leadership Team, DePillo is one of only two recipients of the award for 2006. Benchmark Assisted Living is the largest assisted living provider in the Northeast and owner and operator of The Village of East Farms. “Fran is absolutely the best of the best,” said Tom Grape, chairman and CEO of Benchmark Assisted Living. “She is caring and creative – always thinking of new ways to improve the lives of her residents and improve the ways we provide service at our communities. It is an honor to have her represent our entire company.” “I am very excited to recognize Fran. She has gone above and beyond her day-to-day activities for our residents,” said Martha Balloch, executive director of The Village at East Farms. “Fran has demonstrated impeccable dedication to our community’s mission and values. She is a true example of the service excellence that Benchmark and this community are known for.” Depillo joined The Village at East Farms in November 1998 and leads the community’s Harbor Program for Alzheimer’s care. Depillo is also a faculty trainer with Benchmark Assisted Living’s University. “Fran is a pleasure to work with and is a wonderful manager.
